What to do during a hurricane WATCH?

WHAT TO DO DURING A HURRICANE WATCH
Be prepared when a Hurricane Watch is in effect.

A hurricane watch is declared when there is a threat of possible hurricane conditions at any time within the next 36 hours.

Monitor civil defense updates. Monitor the hurricane through National Hurricane Updates.

During a hurricane watch, it is imperative to review your family disaster plan.

Proper planning will go a long way during a hurricane watch – especially if it turns into a hurricane warning.

Check your Emergency Survival Kit. Make sure everything you need is working and in good order.

Shutter and/or protect windows and glass doors. If you do not have hurricane shutters, protect these openings with plywood and tape your windows to prevent the potential of injury from shattered glass.

Identify, organize, and store your important documents.

Secure any dangerous or hazardous items.
